Hush Mouth

Hush Mouth

Character-focused visual development for a dark fantasy game.

In a city where religion and industry merge into a cult of labor, faith teaches that only productivity can save humanity from divine blindness.

Inspired by Haitian culture.

Zombie Vodou: Elyr

Zombie Vodou: Elyr

A zombie Vodou on a leash. A silent master with a dog for eyes. He carries out dark tasks: soulless, obedient, strangely charming in his emptiness. But as the magic deepens, something inside of him begins to stir...

Elyr is the mayor's son, who was turned into a zombie under his own father's orders to prevent the loss of his perfect successor.

Sister: Maelle

Sister: Maelle

Maelle, the mute daughter of the mayor, discovers that her brother has been dead for years, kept alive as a soulless zombie.

To save her brother, Maelle sets out on a journey to find the culprit and break the spell. To do so, she must first question the prophecy that has condemned the entire world to silence and blind obedience.

Bokor: Alziir

Bokor: Alziir

A feared bokor from the enslaved districts, she serves the mayor in secret and is responsible for turning his son into a soulless zombie. Unlike a Mambo, who guides a religious community, a bokor works in the shadows, dealing in occult pacts and forbidden magic.

Environments

A city of massive brutalist architecture with gothic elements, slowly overtaken by organic forms in areas influenced by the Bokor. Where the mayor keeps her is a mystery: either in the matroneum of a cathedral, or in full view among the people.
